With firm foundations in good breeding, we're looking forward to the 21st century!

OUR CHOICE OF SIRES FOR THE NEXT DECADE

There's no doubt that using great bloodlines contributes towards breeding good sporthorses. Many people are attracted to coloured horses for their colour, the quality of their individual markings and because they are flashy or different from 'other horses'. There are plenty of riders looking for nice coloureds as safe conveyances, and the vast majority of coloureds bred today fit these criteria perfectly. They are bred using 'run of the mill' bloodlines and do not have, or need, any inherent talent beyond riding club level ability to match the aspirations of their riders. This is also why professional riders still regard coloureds as 'inferior' and don't take them seriously. We have bought and bred these horses in the past but our criteria and goals for our ''end product'' has since evolved. We are seeking to produce foremost an athlete, with colour as a bonus. We expect our bay foals to be just as outstanding as our coloured ones, because all the ingredients are there - whatever the colour. By using world renowned proven bloodlines in our breedings, we aim to put the odds firmly in our favour of producing great performance horses. Since the stud fee is a small fraction of the overall cost of producing a four year old ready to ride, we will continue to select and use the very best stallions from world renowned bloodlines on our quality coloured mares. We are committed to a long term and systematic breeding programme and within a few generations we expect to produce some outstanding performance horses with pedigrees, athleticism, talent - and colour!

OUR WARM CONGRATULATIONS TO:
Jane Evans Breeder of Henry's Casino, born 1996. She won the title of the British Show Hack and Cob "In Hand Riding Horse of the Year '99" award and Templeton Reserve Champion to Katie Moore's Trevera Verity. This outstanding dark bay filly is by Pintofields Gepard out of Jane's superb TB mare by John's Secret. In October 1999 Jane sold Henry's Casino for £6,500 to the Curtis family from Hertfordshire; she will come out under saddle in 2000 as a Novice riding horse and is aimed for Wembley. Good luck to Jane with Henry's Out Of This World by Out of the Blue, from the same dam as Henry's Casino. This was Jane's "4th time lucky" at breeding a coloured foal.

MELANIE DIGBY-OVENS
Who rides Pintofields Iedante I. They are regularly winning at Medium Level and are qualified for the Winter Dressage Championships. We wish them all the best for the coming season.

MICHAEL KILPATRICK
For making history with Pintofields Regazza Gazelle by winning their class at the British Hannoverian Championships 1999, beating 10 other foals all by the leading British-bred Hannoverian sires.

PANDORA LYSTER
Breeder of Champion Weggs Powder Mountain, born 1997. His dam is Pintofields Hippolyta Maine whom we bred from our foundation mare Maine Anjou. Pandora bought Hippolyta from us as a yearling, and she was from Hercorose's first crop of foals when he was the first ''Samber'' to stand in GB at the Louella Stud.

OUR INTRODUCTION TO COLOURED POLISH WARMBLOODS AROSE THROUGH OUR PURCHASE OF ''PINTOFIELDS CENTYFOR'' IN 1993.
Since then we visit friends and fellow breeders in Poland every year and I often end up adding yet another mare to the collection when we go round the farms and studs 'just looking'.

Although we had been breeding and riding coloured horses using British bloodlines since 1984, our introduction to coloured Polish Warmbloods arose through our purchase of Centyfor in 1993. He left Poland along with Muson (also known as Timberwolf) and other assorted coloureds when a Polish co-operative went bust and a Dutch dealer bought the horses as a job lot. He was then sold to a Dutch businessman for his daughter to ride, but 6 months later he was sold on again to yet another Dutch dealer, who in turn sold him to Leicester based dealer Paula Potter. It was when Paula took 'Centipede' (our stable name for Centyfor) to a CHAPS show where we were showing Pintofields Purdey by Mars, that we saw and eventually bought him. Three years later, having put him through grading with CHAPS and AES, performance testing and extensive marketing, we sold him to Barry and Sarah Mawdsley where he stands as the figurehead of their 'Centyfield Stud'. Sarah and Centyfor have won and been placed in dressage up to Advanced Medium Level and to date have competed in a few Prix St Georg's.

BETH AND PHILIP HANCOCK
Now standing Elvis (Karabin xIsotop x Athlet ) a black tobiano related to Gepard through the Polish coloured stallion Resor. The King is alive ! and standing in Wales. Elvis was acquired through the services of Nathalie and Christel, to stand for 2000 at Beth and Philip's stud, along with Achterman and the thoroughbred Arms and the Man. Michael and Nathalie saw Elvis in 1991 when they visited the Forsthof stud ,which has since been sold to Michel and Sabine Bruckel along with the Samber son Sambuco.

APLIKAZIA
One of the very first coloured warmblood fillies to be imported into the UK from Poland by Pintofields; sold and exported to the States as a five year old.

PINTOFIELDS TONTO MAINE:
It's always nice to win a class with a homebred horse especially a ridden class, as was the case for us at the Royal Windsor horse show '97. Tonto is now in the ownership of Caby Hagen and together they won the CHAPS showjumping performance awards for '98 and were runners-up for the same award in '99.

PINTOFIELDS PURDEY MAINE
Sold to Dorothy Noble , together they have won and been placed in numerous hunter trials and working hunter classes in Scotland.
